It has been some summer for Ukrainian high jumper Bohdan Bondarenko, but at the IAAF Diamond League in London on Friday night he almost took it to extraordinary levels. And while he was attempting the world record, Zuzana Hejnova, of the Czech Republic, was running her way into 400m hurdles history too as she became the third woman to secure victory in the Diamond Race. Twelve months from the start of the Olympic Games, this anniversary meeting, which carries on on Saturday, was quite a night in front of a crowd of 60,000 - with another 60,000 more expected for the second day.
