Some of the biggest names of the 33rd European Indoor Athletics Championships made their first appearance at Prague’s 02 Arena this morning.

In the bowels of the 02 Arena, it's a whole new world. There are tears, there are smiles, there is lot of heavy breathing, there is anger, there is delight - and above all, there are a great deal of questions.

He puffed out his cheeks and the feeling of relief could probably have been felt all way from Prague to Paris. Renaud Lavillenie had made it into the final of the pole vault at the European Athletics Indoor Championships - but only just.

The official candidates for the Presidency of European Athletics will present their election manifestos during a special “Meet Your Future President” session in Prague on Sunday 8 March.
